Magic of Pokemon

From Poké Sources
Cover of the book.

The Magic of Pokemon is a 1998 book consisting of four parts and an introduction. The book begins by discussing the "Dennō Senshi Porygon" incident, with Part 1 mostly consisting of a collection of newspaper clippings about the case. Part 2 contains general information about Pokemon, Shogakukan, and CoroCoro. Part 3 begins with the chapter "The Birth of Pokemon", which discusses Pokemon's roots. Part 3 further contains an interview with Shigesato Itoi, a short history of Japan's video game industry, and again a chapter about the "Dennō Senshi Porygon" incident. Part 4 contains essays about the influence of mass media on children.

The book contains a few graphics that are difficult to put in wiki markup. In particular, it features a rather complex table on pages 162-163 which I attempted to replicate here.
